We are proud to announce that the great album "Easy Heart" from Dane JENS LYSDAL now is out in Germany. And with a lot of great reviews. Have a look at some here:

Fußball oder Musik? Wer ihn Gitarre spielen hört, weiß: Jens Lysdal hat sich richtig entschieden. Mit viel Gefühl für Sounds zwischen Country und Blues klingt der Däne kein bisschen nach seiner Heimat, sondern eher wie ein Kumpel von Tom Waits oder J.J. Cale.

Die unspektakuläre Musik des Dänen zeugt von großer Reife.

Lysdal selbst überzeugt als vielseitiger Songwriter, der mit leichter Hand die Elemente aus Folk, Blues und Country vermengt und sogar ein Streichquartett auf elegante Weise integriert. Daneben leistet er sich zusammen mit Gitarrist Tim O'Brien zwei Ragtime-Instrumentals, die stilistisch zwar etwas aus dem Rahmen fallen, aber eben Lysdals flinken Fingern eine Basis bieten. Mit seinen - oft viel schwermütiger agierenden - skandinavischen Kollegen hat Lysdal insofern gar nicht so viel gemein. Wie oft in diesem Genre wird auch hier nichts Neues erfunden - aber das Beste aus den entsprechenden Versatzstücken herausgekitzelt.

Skandinavien versorgt den Rest der Welt so unablässig wie verlässlich mit musikalischen Talenten der Extraklasse. Beispiel Jens Lysdal, der sich über die Jahre hinweg eine Fangemeinde sichern konnte  sowohl  als Singer/Songwriter, als auch mit Filmmusiken. In Schweden als Kind dänischer Eltern geboren, durfte sich Lysdal musikalisch ausleben, seitdem man ihm mit 12 erstmals Gitarrenunterricht  zukommen ließ. Sein Debütalbum „A  matter of time“  von ´95 hat bis heute kein bisschen Staub angesetzt. Für „Easy Heart“ jettete der Charismatiker gen Austin, Texas. Scharte dort Studiomusiker um sich, die ansonsten Größen wie Mark Knopfler, Joni Mitchell, Laurie Anderson oder Bob Dylan zuliefern. Die Songtexte erinnern bisweilen an den Sarkasmus eines Randy Newman  – und Lysdals Gesangsstimme  klingt genauso cool wie Dänemarks Multitalent Gitarre spielt. Anspieltipp: Der Opener „It happens to me sometimes“.

Wer gute Singer/Songwriter-Mucke mag und Jens Lysdal noch nicht kennt, der sollte den Skandinavier unbedingt einmal anchecken. Er mag zwar vielleicht nicht der stärkste Sänger unter der Sonne sein, hat aber auch nie Probleme, das Feeling der jeweiligen Lyrics punktgenau in den dafür vorgesehenen Song zu transportieren. Insgesamt also knapp vierzig Minuten Musik, die sich qualitativ auf einem hohen Level befindet. Oft ruhiger, aber nie belanglos, sondern wenn ein Adjektiv es wohl am besten trifft, dann wahrscheinlich 'intensiv'.

For the past few years frontman Bjarke Bendtsen has been traveling both sides of the Atlantic, and the album was recorded partly in Texas with producer James Talambas and musicians from The Polyphonic Spree, Telegraph Canyon and Wildchild.

Spil Dansk Dagen i Berlin

The yearly event in Denmark "Spil Dansk Dagen" (smth like "Play Danish Music Day" - a day of celebrating Danish music, but also a day of giving people who normally dont have the possibility to experience live-music, the chance of having artists coming to where they are) will now also take place in Berlin!
That will be on the 20th of October 2012. Two events - one in the afternoon at the Royal Danish Embassy, where Ricco Victor, the head of Spil Dansk Dagen, will open the arrangement, followed by 3 danish artists performing, and in the evening at BiNuuu in Kreuzberg, where 4 Danish artists will perform. Johanna Elina out in Germany the 14th of September

"It is an unususally peculiar and beautiful debut from the 29-year-old Johanna Elina. There is lyrical depth and evocative and elegantly vasried musical expressions. It is feel-good music, feel-sad music and feel-absolutely-bautiful music throughout all the 10 well-rounded tracks".
That were the words from the 6 star-review in the Danish Kultu-Naut, when the debut album for Finnish Johanna Elina came out in Denmark last year. Anna Rosenkilde single and video

The long awaited debut album from Danish dream pop artist Anna Rosenkilde is now on its way and will be released Germany on May 25^th.

The upcoming album ‘White Woods’ contains 11 new songs and is written and produced by the artist herself. She also plays most of the instruments on the album. It is recorded in a small studio in her appartment in Copenhagen and is a blend of melodic indie dream pop, found sounds and a touch of distortion guitar.

From today, and the rest of the month you can listen to and download the song Amaranth for free via www.facebook.com/annarosenkildemusic It is the last and longest song on the album.

Anna Rosenkilde explains about the song:

“Amaranth is a song I wrote a couple of years ago after a conversation with my grandmother whom I was going to say goodbye to. It is a song about some of all the fantastic things we imagine about the afterlife. It is recorded on her old piano that I have inherited.”
